What is wise to bring along on long trips is a spare clutch cable. Remember this machine can't be started if that cable is kaputt...
And I'd definitely buy some hard, waterproof saddlebags ! Yes, they don't look nice at all, but it is so nice when the things you bring along are dry and clean... And the lower the weight of your load, the better balance of the bike.
